Crafting the future - Meet the scene
Melissa Coleman is a new-media artist, writer and curator of the travelling exhibition Pretty Smart Textiles. Her works are critical explorations of the body in relation to technology. In collaboration with V2_Lab she created Media Vintage (2009), a series of interactive electronic textiles that contain memories.
Melissa teaches Smart Textiles and Physical Computing at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and Fontys Academy for Art, Design and Communication in Tilburg. She is coach at the Industrial Design department of the Technical University of Eindhoven.
Together with Piem Wirtz she founded V2_'s E-Textile Workspace in 2009.
