Monobanda - 3RD
In 3RD you get to experience the world around you from another perspective by using big birdlike Virtual Reality helmets. On the video screen in the helmet you can see yourself from a distance. As you walk through the exhibition space you become your own avatar.
Walking with these helmets on creates a surprising and surreal experience where reality starts to feel like a game. Monobanda designed this installation with DUS Architects in order to bring together the anonymity of the digital world and the sensation of real physical contact. At the same time it also creates an experience in which the user becomes the technology. 3RD was originally curated / commisioned by Rezone playful intervention. external link, Vimeo
